Dragon Age Legends Brings BioWare’s RPG Franchise to Facebook

A Screenshot From Dragon Age Legends

So it seems that Bioware has customized the game to fit the casual environment of Facebook. Buried at the end of paragraph one of the press release they have this neat bit of info:

Launching in February 2011, Dragon Age Legends will also give gamers the chance to earn exclusive unlocks* for Dragon Age II, one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2011.”

They gave a little bit more insight into what to expect here:

“Dragon Age Legends will give players their first taste of the Free Marches, the primary setting of Dragon Age II. Alongside their Facebook friends, players will take on challenging quests within an engaging storyline, earning loot, sharing rewards and growing their kingdom. The game will include a gratifying character customization and upgrade system that will allow players to tackle demons and darkspawn to become a legendary hero within the Dragon Age universe.”

It appears that EA 2D actually did the port and design of this new Facebook game, not Bioware themselves, which leaves me wondering how well the implementation will actually be when we get our mitts on it. What do you think? Any chance this takes the place of Farmville and MafiaWars?
